- Never pick/squeeze pimples or acne spots, the bacteria and infection just gets lodged deeper and becomes more inflamed and the hyperpigmentation period will be longer.
- After washing your face, pat dry (do nut rub) with a clean towel! Change your towel often. Ensure the towel is only for the face and not a hand towel.
- Avoid sun exposure by wearing a hat, sunglasses, clothing, and reapply sunscreen. UV rays are so damaging to the skin and it is the #1 cause of aging.
- Skin needs lots of nourishment to regenerate well, therefore include nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich foods in your diet such as avocado, salmon, fruit, and grass-fed beef.
- Educate yourself with evidence-based scientific literature in skin studies, and avoid home remedies that may damage your skin barrier (baking soda, lemon, toothpaste, etc). Instead, treat your skin the way you wanted to be treated: nicely.
